the SPG was right after all....

good day,

just finished WOMAD. and whoa, MAD it was indeed. i won't bother describing my job scope, it was insignificant that night. what i would like to share with all of you is that the music was, unexpectantly, absolutely fantastic. not only the music - the crowd was indescribable. i couldn't take my eyes off the skin glowing with sweat tonight. model faces, perfect bodies, mesmerizing eyes. they had it all. When Dhol Foundation (one of the bangra bands) said "i heard singapore was a conservative place but somehow i just don't think you guys are!" i couldn't help but smile to myself. Why? Because 80% of the people there were caucasians. How could they be conservative? Only a select few of asians, most probably SPGs or artsy fartsy people were moving to the groove. until of course at the end when perpetually everyone was on their feet.

If an SPG said that singapore guys are immature and what nots, our first reaction would be to defend ourselves and say "hey that's not true". but come to think of it, they're probably right. Where do yellow (chinese) dudes fit in in the dating game? White chicks dig white guys, yellow chicks dig white guys, black chicks dig white/black guys, hell, even white guys dig white guys. Us conservative asians, too afraid to speak up, too afraid of rejection and shame, sit back and pose (hence poseur), pretending that we're too cool to lose it, to go crazy, to have fun.

two more nights. i'm thoroughly enjoying it. free food, free drinks, free enertainment. what more can i ask but perhaps the company of some audience.

and tonight, i fell in love with a heineken girl.
