perfection + girl

when you put the words perfection and girl together, you get a mythical creature unseen by the eyes of men. somehow, we men are unfortunately not programmed to identify with such a being. we can only picture an image of one with long-flowing hair, smooth-edged shoulders, a curvy waist accentuated by her swaying hips, walking AWAY from us on her seemingly endless legs. give or take a few attributes and you have the perfect girl. we can never imagine what her face looks like. it's just that way.

ask any guy on the street, what does your perfect girl look like? he'll tell you, long hair, short hair, no hair, big boobs, medium boobs, no boobs, curvy, thin, meaty, long legs, short legs, medium legs, etc. but they can't tell you is exactly how she looks like. it seems as if we had to put a face to such a legendary individual with such perfect features it would ruin everything. of cos, if you're asking your boyfriend, he'd say you're the perfect girl. so don't ask your boyfriends. and they'd be lying anyway.

you may not be the perfect girl that he has imagined in his head (that's the truth), but trust me when i say you are the perfect girl in his heart. at least for NOW.

truth be told, there is no perfect girl. the prettiest girl may have the ugliest personality, the nicest girl to you may not be the most attractive around you and she who makes you smile everyday, tingles your heart and weakens your knees may hold someone else close to her heart.

the perfect girl is the one who you are at complete ease with. the one who brings you home-made cakes and cookies whenever you want them. and you'd love every bite of them, even if they tasted horrible. the perfect girl is that one who'd sit down beside you and calm you down when you were angry or cheer you up when you were upset. but really she doesn't even need to try because, you're lifted the moment you see her coming towards you, sitting her pretty little self beside and asking: "hey, are you okay?"

the fact that she cared, that she bothered to walk all the way from there to you, that she spotted that you were down from faraway just cleared your head of all your worries, even if it was momentary. and for that moment, you smile and say: "yeah, everything's okay now."

the reason why we can never picture the face of that perfect girl that we've always been imagining is because we're waiting for you to gift us with the final piece of the puzzle that is you. and when all's complete, it doesn't matter if you don't have long flowing hair, smooth edged shoulders, curvy waists accentuated by swaying hips carried by endless legs. cos in our eyes you do. and what matters is that you aren't walking away. you are there, for us to have, to hold and to love.

so boys, if there's any who touches your heart so, keep her close and hold her tight lest you lose her to indifference. 'cause no one can take your perfect girl away unless you've decided to let her go.

and girls, don't hide your feelings and run away 'cause boys being boys will never find out about anything that you mean to hide from them.

the perfect girl in my heart would always make me smile.
she'd always care.
she'd always have the perfect eyes, perfectly cute nose and perfect smile.
she'd walk and carry herself with perfect grace and poise.
(even if she does get clumsy sometimes and knocks things over)
she'd have the perfect soothing voice with the perfect calming hand.
she'd chuckle perfectly with wondrous glee over my lame jokes and foolish antics.
she'd lean perfectly against my shoulder when she gets tired while star gazing on the beach.
my heart'll melt, knowing she's perfectly at peace, eyes closed in deep slumber.

and i know that i'd hold her perfectly close if only i knew where she disappeared to.
- my perfect girl -
